My fishing partner and I have registered to fish in the 14th Annual Fishing to End Hunger WalleyeDan Tournament (FTEH) on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
We are excited to fish this tournament. We love chasing walleyes on the Gull Lake Chain, and we have a chance to win the 1st place prize of $16,000. It would be amazing to win.
The bigger picture for this event is that it’s for charity AND it’s for helping to feed families in Minnesota.
FTEH supports the efforts of The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes (Outreach BLA), located in Nisswa, MN.

About FTEH:
FTEH was established in 2013 as a fundraising event to support the efforts of a humanitarian food aid organization - The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes (Outreach BLA). Outreach BLA is in Nisswa, MN. The organization has packed over 5.2 million meals that have been provided to those in need.
FTEH Fishermen/women fundraise to help this awesome organization fulfill their mission of feeding families our Minnesota neighbors.
About Outreach BLA:
Outreach BLA packages 10 different meals that are provided to local area food shelves, community meal programs, shelters, school backpack programs, mobile meal distributions, take-one-need-one carts, etc. Meals include Apple Oatmeal, Raisin Oatmeal, Mac/Cheese, Tomato Basil Pasta, Minestrone Soup, Cheesy Rice, Spanish Rice, Beans & Rice, Apple Rice and Raisin Rice Pudding.
Outreach BLA meals require only 3-8 cups of boiling water to make. Each meal contains vitamins, minerals, protein, and other nutrients to ensure a healthy product. The cost if minimal - ONLY $0.35/meal. Imagine - you can provide a meal for a family of 6 for ONLY $2.10. That’s incredible.
The vision of Outreach BLA is that 80-90% of the meals they package will be distributed in a 60-80-mile radius of Nisswa.
The remaining 10-20% can be distributed in greater Minnesota, used for disaster relief, or be shipped internationally.
Meals are packed and distributed by community volunteers. This might be a place for you to consider volunteering your time. It’s simple, easy work but makes a BIG impact in a short amount of time.
