My fishing partner and I will be fishing in the 13th Annual Fishing to End Hunger WalleyeDan Tournament (FTEH) on Saturday, October 4, 2025. FTEH was established in 2013 as a fundraising event to support the efforts of a Nisswa Minnesota based humanitarian food aid organization - The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes (Outreach BLA).

Fishermen/women fundraise to help this awesome organization fulfill their mission of feeding families in need. The vision of Outreach BLA is that 80-90% of the meals they package will stay in Minnesota, while the other 10-20% can be distributed for disaster relief and/or international need.

Outreach BLA packages and distributes 10 different meals to local area food shelves, community meal programs, shelters, after school programs, etc. The meals ONLY require 3-8 cups of boiling water to make. Each meal contains vitamins, minerals, protein and other nutrients to ensure a healthy product. They pack foods like apple oatmeal, macaroni & cheese, and Spanish Rice. The packing of meals and the distribution is facilitated by community volunteers.

I love fishing in this tournament. I love chasing walleyes on the Gull Lake Chain and having a chance to win the 1st place prize of $16,000; it would be amazing to win. But the bigger picture for this event is that it’s for charity AND it’s for helping to feed families in Minnesota.

Please consider supporting The Outreach Program of Brainerd Lakes. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will go a long way towards fighting food insecurity for our neighbors.

Thank you for considering supporting my fundraising efforts through Fishing to End Hunger.
